Erna Ómarsdóttir has made an impact on the contemporary dance world in Europe. She is known for her personal style and is often referred to as ‘the enfant terrible’. Ómarsdóttir has on several occasions been voted the best modern dancer and the most exciting young and upcoming choreographer by Europe’s biggest dance magazine Ballettanz. She has worked as a dancer with various dance companies and artists including Jan Fabre, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Les Ballet C de la B, Björk, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir.

Erna Ómarsdóttir has already been part of the NORDWIND Festival – in 2007, 2009 and 2011.
